Taking MR Imaging Another Level Up with AIR Recon DL
Taking MR Imaging Another Level Up with AIR Recon DL
Every so often, a new technology changes the status quo. In 2020, GE Healthcare introduced AIR™ Recon DL, a pioneering, deep-learning-based reconstruction algorithm that challenges the historic compromise between scan time and image quality in MR imaging. AIR™ Recon DL improves image quality at the foundational level by making use of the raw data to remove image noise and ringing, improving SNR and image sharpness, and enabling shorter scan times. It has been heralded as one of the most significant innovations in MR technology in several decades.
Now, AIR™ Recon DL is available for diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI), allowing for the use of higher b-values for greater diffusion-weighted contrast. Read more about AIR™ Recon DL for DWI in A level above the rest in abdominal diffusion imaging and AIR Recon DL for diffusion-weighted imaging.
But wait, there’s more.
GE is taking AIR™ Recon DL to the next level with new 3D and motion-insensitive PROPELLER capabilities. AIR™ Recon DL for 3D and PROPELLER‡ is designed to provide even better image quality without sacrificing scan time. Read more in AIR™ Recon DL extended to 3D and motion-insensitive PROPELLER.
With AIR™ Recon DL, it’s time to change the way you think about MR imaging and the challenges of the trade-off between scan time and image quality. Now, thanks to AIR™ Recon DL with true deep learning, there is simply a better way to achieve high SNR with shorter scan times.
WHAT EARLY USERS ARE SAYING
21 RADIOLOGISTS FROM 11 DIFFERENT SITES AND 6 DIFFERENT COUNTRIES WERE ASKED ABOUT THEIR EXPERIENCE USING AIR™ RECON DL
- Images are sharper and more detailed
- Can enable prescription changes to shorten scan time
- Images display less noise
- Improves lesion conspicuity
- Improves diagnostic confidence
- May help reduce the number of repeat series
- May allow for prescription changes to increase spatial resolution
- Images are easier to read, can be read quicker and lead to reduced eye fatigue
- May achieve greater consistency between patients and technologists
