Contrast agents market set for growth

The MR contrast agents market is expected to grow significantly in the next 10 years, says a new report from Future Market Insights¹. The report, which was referenced on Imaging Technology News in February 2020, stated the market would surge 1.5 times by the year 2029. In addition to demand for image-guided procedures that use contrast, the report credits new product launches and a rise in investment by key players in the contrast agents market as contributors to the growth. GE Healthcare’s launch of a new macrocyclic MR contrast agent called Clariscan (gadoteric acid) in March 2017 in Europe, in July 2018 in South Korea and in November 2019 in the US, serves as an example of major players upping their game in this arena.
